| Description: |
The Ventureast Proactive Fund is a proactive early–growth stage fund that builds on the experience of a number of Indian venture / PE funds, and the global technology investment experience of its principals. The Fund has already reached its top limit of $110 million with commitments from marquee global investors, and has made seven investments.
Overall, the Fund Manager (Ventureast) has close to $300 million venture/PE capital under management. This sets us apart as a home grown fund manager with a long history of early–growth investing in India. However, the team also has significant overseas investment and business building experience; including at Intel, Siemens–Nixdorf and Procter & Gamble, etc
The Fund focuses on opportunities that leverage/use information and communication technology (ICT) to primarily address the needs of the semi–urban /rural markets and the needs of the small and medium business enterprises (SMEs). These include early–stage companies building novel technologies addressing these needs, as well as companies from mature sectors that better leverage ICT for leadership. In both the cases, the Fund Manager's approach is pro–active. The Fund pro–actively provides
early–stage companies (sub $5 million investment size) with the hand holding they need, and proactively approaches companies from mature sectors ($5 to $10 million investment size) with a technology proposition & capital to help build leadership. This early–growth space is essentially unoccupied in the
Indian PE/VC industry. But, Ventureast has consistently focused on this space, and built proprietary deal flow networks. |
