A General Partner with Ventureast, Bobba brings over 36 years of corporate leadership experience in the pharmaceutical and life sciences fields in the US, EU and Asia. He is an active board member of six US based portfolio companies including Mardil, a medical devices company; Itero a biopharmaceutical company; Trans-India, an acquisition firm focusing on the life sciences field in India; Marillion, a cancer drug company; Melior, a pharmaceutical services company; and Bioserve, a pharmacogenomics services company.   He is also the President and CEO of Trans-India, which under his stewardship has raised USD 92 Million in funds, and is gearing up for a major exit within the next two years.

Bobba’s extensive experience in building life sciences products and businesses is leveraged by his portfolio companies. He helped one company double their revenues recently with an acquisition, and led the transformation of another portfolio company to being product focused when the existing technology platform focus was yielding limited results. Bobba has previously served as Senior Vice President of operations at Aradigm Corporation; Executive Vice President at Diosynth, a division of Akzo Nobel; President and CEO at Molecular Biosystems, an NYSE listed company; Executive Vice President at Centocor Inc; President at Warner-Lambert (currently a part of Pfizer) in Indonesia, and Vice President in Puerto Rico; and Vice President at Parke Davis.

A pharmacist by training, Bobba graduated with gold medal honors from Andhra University. He also has an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey. Apart from his directorships of portfolio companies, Bobba also serves on the boards of Sparsha Pharma, India’s first transdermal drug delivery company, and the Indian subsidiary of Napo Pharmaceuticals, a California based company.
