Sarath is the Founder and Managing Partner of Ventureast, one ofIndia’s pioneering Venture Capital Funds investing in pioneering sectors sincethe mid-90s. Ventureast manages over $350 million having made close to 100investments.  

 

The Fund is currently investing out of its fifth fund with a focuson enterprise tech and consumer tech. The fund has a thematic concentratedportfolio in Technology and Healthcare. Some of its past and currentinvestments include MoEngage, Kissht, Acko, Portea, ekincare, 24 Mantra, GlandPharma, Richcore, Inc Nut, Little Eye Labs, etc. 

 

In the past, Sarath sold soap at Procter & Gamble USA, andworked in British American Tobacco subsidiary (VST Industries, Hyderabad). Asan entrepreneur, he has built a trading business between India and the USA,covering engineering & fashion goods, and printing related services. 

  

Sarath has a B.Tech from IIT, Madras and an MBA from Booth,University of Chicago. He has been associated at Board level positions with theIVCA, ABLE, IITM Research Park, ICRISAT, PanIIT Association, Ascent Capital,Equitas Micro-Housing, Annapurna Microfinance, among others. He makes his homein 3 cities (Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore), with an equally active wife,Meena; After their education, his son Akhil is working in Walmart in Sunnyvale,California, and daughter Alisha is based in New York as an Industrial andJewelry Designer.
